Lynn Alexander

Essential Industry

November, 2010

Back from New York, and a great time with friends and poets and artists and performers. I read some poems and a short fiction piece at The Yippie on November 15, at a reading hosted by Puma Perl and Big Mike. Pictures in Galleries.

Working on the chapbook series, preparing now for the East Bay Alternative Book Fair, in Berkeley. We will have a table, hopefully with piles of books prepared without incident.

I’m writing and working on a wire sculpture in between everything else, and once again my “methods” require tedious layers of glue and embedded metal- and it really needs to be done outside. I’m trying to finish ahead of the cold but I just might end up out there in the snow working on this thing. If I could just have a week without interruptions, responsibilities, laundry… but I suppose I have grown accustomed to working under duress, sneaking in work moments. I’m not sure what I would do with free time and a quiet house.
